Levi sits in Kittilä, about 170 km north of Rovaniemi and just 15 minutes from Kittilä airport, so you can land and be clicking into skis the same morning. The resort and the village are compact and walkable, with ski-in/ski-out hotels, restaurants and a supermarket all within a short stroll, which makes daily life with children genuinely easy.
With 43 slopes and 27 lifts, Levi has terrain for every level, but families single it out for how gentle the learning is here: wide, well-groomed beginner pistes, magic-carpet lifts, and instructors used to teaching small children in their own language. Off the slopes there are husky and reindeer farms, snowmobile safaris, and a long, lively floodlit village to wander in the polar dark.

Levi is about a 2.5-hour drive north of Rovaniemi on good winter-maintained roads. The nearest train station is Kolari (about 80 km), the northern end of the line; an overnight car-train from southern Finland to Kolari is a popular family option, then a short drive or transfer to the resort.
